User Types

Information Architecture

Due to how complicated the original NBS site was designed, simplifying the information architecture in a way that would allow a user to complete their task was critical.

First and second level pages are clearly defined along with the content that would be housed on each page.

Ideation & Sketches

About Us Page - wanted to highlight club locations and how NBS started. The organization has a rich history that should be shared.

Home Page - wanted to give a brief overview of organization’s mission and vision and the way that a user could support the organization.

The Summit - NBS’s annual Summit is the organizations biggest event. It was important to me to make sure that a user could easily identify when and where the next Summit would be, have any questions they might have by including a FAQ section, provide general information of the event and allow user to register for the event.

About Us Page

The purpose of the redesign of the About page was to demonstrate a clear identity of what NBS is and what they stand for.

It was important to make sure that a user wanting to know more about the organization have their questions answered.

Homepage

The homepage is the first thing a user will interact with when they look up NBS. With the goal of appealing to a younger demographic we used the the Hero image to state the purpose of the website.

We wanted to share that NBS has clubs people can join, that there is an annual summit and an NBS competitive team.

Athletes

In the original design of the athlete page the page was busy with a lot of information that could easily overwhelm a new user. I simplified the bios to show their name, if they ski or snowboard, age, and what NBS club they are a member of and added simple headshots.
